Is compounded medication safe?

Compounded medications are not FDA-approved. They are prepared by state-licensed pharmacies and our pharmacy partners are named on every shipment's Transparency Card. Before your prescription is written, your provider walks you through what you're taking and what FDA-approved alternatives exist.

What happens when I stop?

Most members continue. The first 24 weeks are the foundation protocol — clinician oversight, biannual lab panels, dose titration. After that, ongoing care continues at the membership rate you joined at, with the 3-month minimum already met. If you step down, your clinician plans a taper; the membership remains until you cancel.

They often do. Hormone levels swing too widely in perimenopause for one draw to catch it — clinical guidance is explicit that normal labs don't rule it out. Your symptoms are the evidence: the screening reads twelve patterns of them, and your clinician treats what you're living. Labs run alongside to keep dosing safe — they never decide whether you're believed.

It's the most common substitution in this story: psychiatry offered before the hormones were ever read. Mood changes in perimenopause are often hormonal events, and at Weightstry the hormonal picture is read first. If an antidepressant belongs in your protocol, that's a decision made with the whole picture in view — never a substitute for reading it.

Most side effects are GI and most resolve in weeks 2–4 — and you'll know what each phase can feel like before it starts, in writing, including the spotting that can come with starting HRT. Nothing should surprise you. Your Member Concierge covers side-effect management bi-weekly.

What if I can't inject myself?

Accepted Answer

Your care team walks you through your first injection, and most members learn it in one sitting — the needle is smaller than the fear. If injections stay a no, we offer oral semaglutide; it is less effective than injectable per current clinical data, and we'll tell you so in writing.

My doctor won't prescribe testosterone.

Accepted Answer

Most won't — the guidelines lag the evidence, the prescribing logistics are real, and most telehealth services don't reliably carry it either. Weightstry prescribes testosterone directly where you're clinically eligible, with the level verified in your labs. For many members it's the layer that completes the protocol.

That fear has a date: 2002, one study, since corrected. The FDA itself has now begun removing those boxed warnings, citing the study's flaws — and your clinician reads your individual risk picture (history, timing, formulation) before anything is prescribed. Membership is $150/month at the founding rate. Medication is priced separately by the pharmacy — compounded GLP-1 runs $179–$339/month, bioidentical HRT $79/month. Across the 24-week foundation protocol that is roughly $11–$16 a day for clinical care, labs, your dietitian, coaching, and medication. Equinox Optimize is $40,000 a year.

The program fee. Medication, labs, and shipments already used are not refundable — with one exception: if your clinician determines a prescribed medication isn't clinically right for you after your first labs, that medication cost is refunded.
